The gift
What is a Vellucio box?
A gift made around what you want to say. The top opens to three artisanal chocolates you choose. Beneath them, a drawer holds a framed photograph, a letter in your words, and a card that plays your video with a tap. The chocolates are the occasion. The rest is the message.
Who is it for?
Anyone you'd rather not send something ordinary to. Most boxes go to partners and family, often across a distance: an anniversary you can't be there for, a birthday in another city, or a simple "I miss you."
Is it a chocolate box?
No, Vellucio is a product aimed to give people the outlet to gift something special. The frame, the letter, the card and the box itself. The chocolates begin the moment; the rest is made to be kept.
Can I send more than one box to different people?
Each box is made for one person. If you'd like to send several, write to us and we'll help you arrange it.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated based on your location and the items in your order. You will always know the shipping price before you purchase.
Your words, photo and video
How long can my letter be?
Up to 180 characters, printed and placed in the envelope. We use their first name at the top. If you're not sure where to start, the gift builder offers opening lines you can make your own.
What happens to my photograph?
We print it and frame it, ready to stand on a shelf or bedside table. For the best result, upload the original photo rather than a screenshot. The printed size is 4.1 x 5.8 inches (A6).
Do I have to add a photo?
You are not required to upload a photo to include in the gift box. If a photo is not added with the order, the frame will not be included in the box.
How does the video card work?
You upload a video when you build the box, and we link it to the card inside the envelope. They hold their phone near the card, or scan the QR code on it, and your video opens. No app is needed.
Will it work on their phone?
Almost certainly. iPhone XS and newer read the card without an app: they hold it near the top of the phone and tap the notification that appears. On Android, NFC needs to be switched on. On any phone, the QR code works too.
How long should my video be?
Under 90 seconds works best. Speak as you would if you were there. It doesn't need to be polished; it needs to sound like you.
Is my video private?
Your video isn't public and can't be found by searching. It opens only through the link on the card. Only the person with the card can watch it.
How long will the video stay available?
Your video will be accessible a year. If for any reason you want it removed, write to us and we'll take it down.
Can I change my letter, photo or video after ordering?
Yes, within 24 hours of ordering. After that, your box is already being made.
Delivery
Where do you deliver?
Anywhere in the United States, for now. More locations will be added in the future.
How long does delivery take?
We prepare each box within two working days, and the courier takes about four business days. The earliest arrival is six working days from your order. You can also choose a later date, and we'll time production to match.
Can I choose the day it arrives?
Yes. Pick a date when you order, and we'll plan the box around it. Courier times are estimates, so for a date that matters, give yourself a few extra days.
When should I order for Valentine's Day or an anniversary?
At least six working days before, and ideally a week earlier.
How much is shipping?
$20 to anywhere in the US, paid at checkout.
Will they have to pay anything on delivery?
No. All duties and import taxes are paid at checkout, so they'll never be asked to pay or contacted about customs.
Do you ship on weekends?
To protect the chocolate. Boxes that would sit in a warehouse over a weekend are held back and sent on Monday instead.
Can I keep it a surprise?
Yes. Choose "Keep it a surprise" and only you will receive tracking updates. If you'd rather they know something is coming, choose "Let them know it's on the way."
Chocolate
What chocolates can I choose from?
Six: milk chocolate, 79% dark chocolate, white chocolate, truffle, chocolate-covered almond, and blackberry almond dragée. You choose three, and you can pick the same one more than once.
What allergens do they contain?
All of them contain milk and hazelnut. The chocolate-covered almond and the blackberry almond dragée also contain almond. All of them may contain traces of pistachio, almond, peanut, sesame, walnut and gluten. Full ingredients are listed on the product page.
How should the chocolates be stored?
Somewhere cool and dry, away from sunlight. For the best taste, enjoy them within a week of arrival.
Orders and care
Can I cancel my order?
Yes, free of charge within 24 hours of ordering. After that, each box is already being personalized and made, so we can't offer a refund.
What if the box arrives damaged or doesn't arrive?
Write to us with a few photos and your order number. We'll look into it and resolve it with you directly.
